When we heard about the Alimentarium's new Escape Game AL2049, a type of simulator for age 12-77, we had to contact Head of Content at this Vevey Museum to find out more. Nicolas Godinot, a Swiss/French national with perfect English, explained and demonstrated the game to us.

"We wanted to put together a project that put forward the issues of today's world to feed those in years to come. The eco-system put forward in this game challenges the way we think. Of course it can be enjoyed by all ages but we really are targeting 15-25 year-olds as they are in that teenage group that doesn't often visit museums, while challenging our system and being climate conscious. Our objective is to show them through a digital system how choices we make today affect our tomorrow."

Nicolas claimed that this project, AL2049 (the name is derived from "Alimentarium" and a future date), took 2.5 years to put together from the first idea to the final implementation. He worked alongside a great team from the University de Genève's TECFA LIP department with Professor Eric Sanchez. The digital programming graphics, and fine-tuned game design were done by local Vevey company, Digital Kingdom.

The Geneva Amateur Operatic Society (GAOS) will bring a lively performance to the Christmas season again this year!

The ever-popular Sleeping Beauty is this year’s traditional British pantomime produced by GAOS, the Geneva Musical Theatre. Nine performances run from 25th November to 4th December 2022 at the Théâtre de Marens in Nyon.

This famous pantomime features the classic fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty, staged of course with a prince and princess, an evil witch and some surprisingly sassy fairies in a large cast of talented children and adults. The energetic singing and dancing are blended with stunning costumes, jokes, and a live band. With rousing participation from the audience, all ages will have a good time.

We love writing articles about entrepreneurs that have found the right balance between work and pleasure. Olivier Dunand founded Changez d'Air in 2000 and after 22 years, is still going strong. We asked him to let us know more about this passion for hiking locally, a bit further afield, and trips around the world!

What has been the inspiration behind Changez d’Air?
I started traveling after I graduated to countries such as Nepal, India, Patagonia, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, and more... the desire to share the taste of travel associated with the joys of the outdoors quickly arose.

Now I propose day trips locally, overnight trips to destinations a bit further away, and longer trips to India and Morocco.

What has been the inspiration behind Changez d’Air?
The desire for wide open spaces, travel, discoveries and to share them with like-minded people. I speak French and English (even though my website is only in French) and enjoy meeting new people.

What is the newest hike or trip you have added to the Changez d’Air menu?
Calanques - Sainte Victoire et Marseille, a 4-day trip including an initial city walk on arrival followed by 3 days of hiking through the hills and mountains. Click here if you are interested in the upcoming dates of 21-24 November 2022.
