If you are looking for something special to complement your outfit, or are searching for an unusual, distinctive gift to offer a friend or loved one, then you should take a look at the range of handmade wire crochet jewelry being created by Laura Hall, founder of LolsDesigns.

Using thin gold, silver or plated metal wire, Laura has produced a range of delicate, open pieces, which are light and easy to wear.  In contrast to the Granny blankets and doilies that are often associated with crochet, Laura's jewelry has a unique contemporary feel to it, which is also very feminine. To add that extra special touch, many of the pieces are adorned with semi-precious gemstones such as amethyst, hematite, amazonite and rose quartz, with beautiful colors that will match almost anything you wear with them!

Last month, we were reminded once again what amazing talent exists in this region amongst our entrepreneurial readers, for example a poster created by local mom, Evelyne Cave (currently listed on page 692 of Know-it-all passport® 2015/2016).

Brought up in Geneva in English and French, Evelyne remembers only too well how confusing it was when being taught the letters of the alphabet that “a” is for apple in English, when the same object starts with a “p” (for pomme) in French.

So when she moved abroad with her husband and started to raise her own expat family of young children as bilingual speakers, she resolved to find a solution by creating her own bilingual illustrated poster of the alphabet using not only the same letters but also the same sounds for each letter in English and French.

Evelyne told knowitall.ch, “I thought it would be helpful for other families in the same situation so I enlisted the help of an illustrator. As you can see the pictures are beautifully drawn by a children's illustrator, Rebecca Price.”

The Swiss e-store, My Little Room, has made a selection of their bestselling designer toys for Christmas, which knowitall.ch readers can have delivered free of charge throughout the month of December!

Targeted at children aged 0 to 14, the toys fall into 3 main categories: Design, Eco-friendly or Vintage. Co-founder, Maya Raymond, explained the difference between the toys to knowitall.ch,

"Our Design toys have been selected to please our more design-conscious parents, so the toys can become a feature of a room, rather than untidy, unwanted clutter! With sleek lines, and graphic patterns they include items such as wooden toy houses, colourful maracas, and smooth skittles."
