After the winter version that we talked about last year, La Banquise, it is now time to check out what Geneva has in store for La Canopée, the summer event!
Entirely devoted to relaxation and fitness, this temporary space close to Baby Plage offers entertainment during the summer months.
Sports and leisure activities
The City of Geneva offers free sports and leisure activities on the Canopée site, open to all generations.
In a shady, green environment, you can try your hand at activities such as cardio boxing, Pilates and stretching. You don't need to register in advance to take part in these classes.
Sport and relaxation classes: practical information
These classes take place every day of the week:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday: 7.45am to 11am and 5.30pm to 6.30pm;
Wednesday and Thursday: 7.45am to 11am;
Saturday and Sunday: 9.30am to 12pm.
Free of charge, no registration required. All you need to bring is your gym clothes and a floor mat (or towel for lying down).
Dance classes
Free dance classes let you move to the beat of the music, while enjoying the view. Dance activities are programmed by BeYou Dance.
These classes take place in July and August:
Wednesday evenings, from 7pm to 9pm
Friday evenings, from 7pm to 10pm
Saturday evenings, from 5pm to 10pm
Sunday afternoons, from 2pm to 5pm.
Free, no registration required. All you need to do is turn up in suitable clothing!
Stand-up evenings
In July and August, the Caustic Comedy Club organizes stand-up evenings.
Free of charge, they take place on Thursday evenings, from 7pm to 8pm, and feature local and international comedians.
Comedy evenings take place:
Every Thursday in July, from 7pm to 8pm;
Thursdays, August 7 and 14, from 7pm to 8pm.
Free entry, no registration or reservation required.
Games for all ages
Animations de la Ludothèque des Eaux-Vives
Every Wednesday afternoon, the Eaux-Vives toy library offers activities and games for young and old alike.
Discover the Eaux-Vives toy library, its activities and games:
Wednesdays in June, from 2pm to 5pm;
Wednesdays in July, from 3.15pm to 6.15pm;
Wednesdays in August 6 and 13, from 3.15pm to 6.15pm.
How can you take part?
Free, no registration required.
Petanque field
For those who wish, there's also a pétanque area where you can play every day.
Refreshment bar and food truck
For the duration of the event, you'll find the following on site at the water's edge:
- a refreshment stall, run by the ARVe association, which is organizing 3 special evenings during the summer
- the Los Bandidos food truck, serving Latin-style cuisine
