Know-it-all-passport CH launch 448

Meet the authors at Payot Chantepoulet this Saturday, 27 September!

Lisa Cirieco-Ohlman invites you to attend the official launch of the 9th edition Know-it-all passport 2015/2016 (KIAP) and the 2nd Edition of Education Guide Switzerland (EGS2), produced in collaboration with Denise Nickerson.

The launch will take place at a special vernissage, including drinks and nibbles, being held on Saturday, 27 September from 16h-18h at Payot Chantepoulet bookstore in Geneva, near the Cornavin Train Station. Having recently merged with the popular English bookstore, OffTheShelf, Payot Chantepoulet has undoubtedly one of the best selections of English-language books in the region. You can read about this merger in a recent article at this link. The recently renovated Cornavin train station boasts a new Payot branch exclusively offering French-language books –and open 7/7– leaving the nearby Chantepoulet location room to expand their international books in English, German, Italian, Spanish, and Russian.

On Saturday, an offer of 10% off both books will be available at this location! This is your opportunity to get these books at a great price.

Know-it-all passport 2015/2016
Now in its 9th edition, Know-it-all passport® is THE English-language reference book for anything you want to know in Geneva, Vaud and neighboring France: it includes recommendations on everything from shopping, housing and education to birthday party venues, places to eat, night life, and even chocolate!  The chapter on OUTINGS AND TRIPS (56 pages) is a book within a book. You won't need anything else!

With a team of 20 people to help her update the latest edition, Lisa Cirieco-Ohlman has included 780 pages and literally hundreds of new entries in the latest edition, including two new sections, entitled BY FOOT and CHEESE. The new book features more than 50 chapters, a 28-page index, 2 handy bookmarks attached by ribbons, and useful maps of the area. A KIAP photo competition revealed some great local talent and provides section dividers.

Education Guide Switzerland 2nd Edition
Produced by Lisa Cirieco-Ohlman with the expert guidance of Educational Consultant, Denise Nickerson, the second edition of Education Guide Switzerland follows the tradition of Know-it-all passport, with all entries being listed free-of-charge. Given that the entire book is dedicated to education establishments alone, it has also been possible to allocate each establishment a whole page within the 400-page book.  Within each description there are quotes, when available, from parents, students, alumni, faculty, or directors, as well as information on tuition costs, contact details, location, course programs, fun facts and even references to famous alumni!

Building on the success of the first edition, the new guide is now 50% bigger with an extra 128 pages covering more than 150 additional educational institutions offering academic programs in English within Switzerland. There is a clearer index to help you find schools more quickly and attractive chapter headings thanks to our EGS photo competition winners. Not only does the book include all Swiss cantonal high schools offering bilingual diplomas that include English, it also features expanded sections for academic extras, other educational options and schools that are just across the border.  There are even listings for several new schools opening soon in Switzerland, as well as new information on summer programs not included before.

To see the books for yourself and meet the team in person, head on down to Payot Chantepoulet this Saturday, 27 September. We look forward to seeing you there!

If you can't make it to the official launch, the book will also be on sale:

— at Expat Expo on Sunday, 5 October, 2014, in the La Praille Ramada Conference Center in Geneva/Carouge.
— at Leman International Fair on Sunday, 2 November, 2014, in the Beaulieu Congress Center in Lausanne
as well as our usual retail outlets throughout Geneva, Vaud, and neighboring France.
