A new company has just just been set up in Switzerland importing high quality, classic shoes for children from England and Spain.

Set up by Nyon-based mompreneur, Oriane de Castellane, Boni Classic will stock the popular Start Rite brand of shoes, well known in England for its long-lasting, durable footwear for kids, as well as its own brand of shoes made in Spain. In the future, the store will add a new Italian supplier of traditional children’s shoes, as well as a Spanish company specializing in riding boots.

Asked why she decided to set up her company in Switzerland, Oriane told knowitall.ch, “I had been trying for months to find good quality shoes for my own two boys. I even went to Paris, where I come from, in order to buy them.  I was really disappointed, though, when I finally went online and ordered a famous brand of shoes that I used to wear when I was a child, and discovered that they were made in China and lasted only 3 months, in spite of their elevated price tag!”

A popular local singer, Brandy Butler, has just launched her first solo single in Switzerland. Called "Choo Choo (The SBB Song)", the new single is a funny, soulful summer song detailing her failed attempts to cajole a Swiss SBB train controller when he catches her without having paid for a ticket!

Born and raised in Pennslyvania, Brandy first came to Switzerland on a whim in 2003. Having devoted her early life to music  (she obtained a Bachelor's in Jazz Studies and spent the years following her graduation teaching Elementary Music in the Philadelphia School District), she decided to move to Switzerland and work as an au-pair for a family in a small village near Zürich called Bonstetton. Within months of her move here, she began to work for big names such as The Dankners, Seven, Paulo Mendoza, Rolf Stalhofen and many more as a background singer. After landing a spot in 2004 on Florin Ast's "Astrein" Tour, she decided to continue her music pursuits in Switzerland.
