The American International Women’s Club of Geneva has just published a new guide to skiing in the region.

Called “Think Ski” the new 181-page guidebook tells you all you need to know about downhill and cross country skiing at 21 of the most popular local resorts, some of them on our doorstep and others no more than a few hours' drive away.

Written and beautifully illustrated by local author, Eleanor Ormiston, the book is packed with all kinds of tips to ensure everyone, skiers and non-skiers alike, can make the most of their outings to the local ski slopes.

In France, these include ski stations in the Jura, resorts in the Mont Blanc region such as Megève, Combloux and Chamonix, and resorts in the Portes du Soleil and Avaris regions. Several well-known ski areas in Switzerland are also included.

For non-skiers, there is plenty of information about other activities to be explored at these resorts, as well as valuable tips on local restaurants where you can expect to enjoy gourmet dining!

In addition to detailed information on the resorts, the book also includes 16 articles covering diverse subjects such as the traditions and history of Savoie and Haute Savoie , avalanche awareness, heliskiing, children and skiing, essential equipment and clothes, and skiing safely, to mention just a few.

For those who don’t want to venture so far from home, there is also a detailed information section, which lists local ski clubs in Geneva, family associations, and resources for up-to-date weather and road reports, ski camps, ski vocabulary and more.

Priced at just Fr. 30.-, Think Ski may be purchased in Geneva directly from the American International Women’s Club, or at the Payot  and Off The Shelf bookstores (details below)
