With the very, very cold temperatures this week and into the next (MétéoSuisse), take advantage of skating a lake, or just simply around the corner at the local rink! These seasonal ice-skating rinks are open during the winter months. Skates can be rented for a nominal charge and skating is usually free. Here are some (not all) but we can add to the list if you see one you would like to let us know about.

Check website to make sure the lake is sufficiently frozen over. Even when the lake is open, it is not without danger to venture there, as conditions can change at any time. It is therefore necessary to respect the markings in place:
— Red flag = DANGER, access strictly prohibited
— Green flag = area open within a zone marked out by stakes
La Cordonnerie Mouquin offers a wide selection of skates for rent at its store in Le Sentier, Monday through Saturday. During busy weekends, rental stands are also set up on the lake.
