A husband and wife team living in Switzerland has come up with the perfect solution for managing your photos.

Operating under the name of PikPerfect, Rushad Vevaina and his wife, Maike, have created an easy-to-use website, which enables you to produce your own, professional-looking photobook, without wasting time using complicated layout software, but instead using PikPerfect's team of highly experienced graphic designers to do the work for you!

Rushad told knowitall.ch, "What makes PikPerfect special is the effort we apply to designing and customising our client's photobooks to their unique and personal tastes. Unlike other photobook providers that provide you with free, but often time-consuming, software to help you design a photobook, PikPerfect's Photobook Design Service will do the work for you! So, in contrast to other companies that just give you the option of choosing between a few basic template-themes, and then leave you to get frustrated working out how to use their layout software, we ask our clients to tell us what they want, e.g. the number of photos on a page, the spacing around the photos, color preferences, etc,  Armed with these basic design requirements, our designers will then use their creative skills, acquired through years of experience working in the publishing business, to produce something a little bit out of the norm, something special that will make your book stand out from the rest. Indeed, most of the books we design look very different from each other... and that's good!"

boxnails

How much would you pay for this box of nails, screws, and hooks? After living in Switzerland for so many years and thinking I know it all about where to get the best price for just about anything, I was amazed and speechless (and that is not easy for me) to find such a great deal.

After having a brain-wave about how to display car-related items in my 15-year-old son's room, I went on the search to find one fence panel on which I could hang the items - difficult in the winter. Intensive research, phone calls, and trawling the net, led me to SAMSE in St. Genis, France. Although they wouldn't sell me a single fence panel, they did suggest I buy one of the metal grids that builders use for laying cement as an alternative. Here is my invention for hanging all the car stuff from little "S" hooks from the grid. They can be moved about as necessary. Believe it or not, the 2 units (each measuring 1m x 2m) cost a total of €7.50! The chains are hung from the wooden beam that is at the top of this wall from the screw hooks pictured below (the chains were bought at La Boîte à Outils).

As a senior manager with JWT, one of the world’s largest advertising agencies, Chandana Sen knew how important it was to look good in her job, working in product planning for some of the world’s most well-known, profitable brands. Based in Mumbai, but traveling extensively across Europe and Asia, fashion played a major role in her everyday life, and she soon came to realize that if you shop carefully, then good quality, fashionable products need not be expensive at all.

So when she came to Switzerland in 2008 to start a new life with her husband and son, she recognized almost immediately the huge marketing potential of the fashion items that she had come across on her travels in Asia. Each time she went back there, she was constant reminded about the amazing variety of beautifully designed, colorful clothing and accessories that can be purchased at infinitely more affordable prices than similar items in Switzerland.

And so she decided, with her husband, to launch Chicbags.net, an online outlet for a new range of largely handmade bags, ethically sourced from all corners of the world. The site was launched officially to the public at the beginning of November, 2012. Chandana told knowitall.ch,

jewelery swapparty

Is your wardrobe overflowing with clothes but you still feel that you have nothing to wear?  Are there items in there that you simply haven’t worn for years, perhaps because they are too big or too small? Or do you simply just fancy a change – but can’t afford to splash out on any new clothes or accessories?

If so, then clothes swapping is the new, economical and eco-friendly solution that may be perfect for you!  In the US, Germany and France, the concept of Swapping has been around for ages – now it is the time for those of you living in Switzerland to give it a try!

Swap-Party@St-Prex is the first event of its kind in this area to be launched by organizers, Katharina Vaquero, Désirée Quagliara and Katharina Peters.  Taking place on 26th November at the Foyer au Vieux Bourg, in the small medieval village of St-Prex on the shores of Lac Léman, the event is described as “a ladies night out, all about fun and fashion, in a nice and relaxing atmosphere.”
