If you’ve ever been to England at Christmas time, then you will know it is a magical time, one which conjures up images of turkey lunches, mince pies, carol singing, and crackers – not to mention all the shopping beforehand for presents.
This year, the town of Vevey has decided to bring its own version of an English Christmas to the shores of Lake Geneva. With a series of events taking place between 6 and 23 December, an English Christmas in Vevey consists of four main elements: a mince pie competition, Christmas lunch, high teas, and shopping. Throughout the 18 days of the festival, visitors to Vevey will be able to feel for themselves the warm ambiance of Christmas in England, which will of course include carol singing and lots of Christmas crackers!

From 9 to 11 October 2015, Geneva will host the first ever international Netball test series to be played in Switzerland, comprising three matches between the national teams of Switzerland and Canada.
Netball, inspired by basketball, is considered the world's premier team sport for girls and women and over 20 million play the sport worldwide. An Olympic recognized sport and one of the major sports played in the Commonwealth Games, Netball was first introduced to Switzerland in 2007 and is now well established in numerous clubs and schools, where it is played by both Swiss nationals and internationals.
An information session will be held this Thursday to inform the public about a historic event that will take place in Rolle next spring.

With so many special animations planned for this momentous occasion, the organizers are inviting everyone from artisans, boatmen, singers and lace makers through to hairdressers, actors, shopkeepers, and cooks to join them at a special meeting to see where their skills can best be put to use throughout the festivities.

An exciting new program of activities and events is being planned for children and their families at this year’s Lilibiggs Festival Pour Enfants in Bougy-Villars, Vaud.
Sponsored by Migros, the festival will take place over 2 days at the popular Signal-de-Bougy park, on 18 and 19 July, 2015. This year’s event will feature lots of new activities for children and their parents and will draw on the support of many local artists and musicians to offer entertainment ranging from music, magicians, and circus presentations, through to story-telling, a juggling class, Tai Chi lessons, and a special workshop focusing on the 5 senses. The Surfrider Foundation will also be present with lots of great ideas on how to keep beaches, lakes and rivers clean. In addition, there will a special games area focusing on traditional, wooden board games, the likes of which many young kids will never have seen before!
