Are you looking forward to celebrating Thanksgiving with family and friends, but are daunted by the idea of preparing all the food that goes with it?  Would you rather just put your feet up and let someone else do the cooking this year?  Well you can, and you don’t have to wait for someone else to invite you to their home!
Swiss retail and wholesale bakery, Peace Foods, is offering clients an all-inclusive, food delivery service that means your entire meal – right down to the aperitifs and side dishes – can be delivered to your door, either Ready to Eat (hot out of the oven) or Ready to Heat (just heat and serve).
According to Peace Foods founder, Linda Vogel, all turkeys are natural, free range, Swiss turkeys, brined for 24 hours, and then slow-roasted to ensure they are deliciously juicy and flavorful. But if you don’t fancy turkey, you can also choose from honey-glazed gammon or Irish Angus beef instead.

Linda told us “We offer all the trimmings you could possibly imagine: butternut squash gratin, goosefat roasted potatoes, brussel sprouts and chestnuts with pancetta, are just a few of the garnishings that we provide – check out our flyer to view the full menu. There is such a large choice we advise you to leave plenty of time to discuss the options with your family and friends!”
Launched in 2007, Peace Foods is Switzerland’s only retail and wholesale bakery dedicated to producing and distributing, high quality, all natural American Style baked goods and desserts for Classic and Special-Dietary requirement food lovers – no preservatives or additives are used in the food at all.   A process called Flash Freezing enables freshly baked goods to be shipped throughout Switzerland, for next day delivery, without compromising the taste or flavor of the products.
Linda added, “We offer a walk-in or home delivery service throughout the year, but our holiday dinners are especially popular as they enable clients to offer their own guests delicious and healthy, home made food – but without the stress of making it themselves. As Thanksgiving or Christmas approaches, many clients don’t have the time to pick and choose dishes from our menu so we also offer a standard Turkey Dinner Menu priced at Fr. 450.- for 10-12 people, or Fr. 250.- for 6 people. With dishes like sweet yam casserole, southern cornbread, and pumpkin pie, this is no “average” dinner – but one you can be sure that will satisfy the most discerning taste buds!”

Desserts are a particular speciality of Peace Foods, and use only the freshest, local ingredients. Eggs and milk come directly from a farm in Zug, only Swiss premium butter is used, and the flour comes from Zurich where it is milled from locally grown wheat. Real Madagascar vanilla and natural sea salt from Spain or Portugal are also used. There are no artificial flavors, ingredients or preservatives in their desserts - and definitely no gelatin! Gluten free, vegan, spelt and low fat desserts are a particular speciality and can be ordered online or via telephone.
To find out more about Peace Foods, visit their website at www.peacefoods.ch.  To avoid disappointment, you are requested to place your order at least two weeks in advance. Prepayment is required and there will be an additional charge for delivery, which varies according to location.  In Geneva, the typical cost would be a maximum of Fr. 30.- for orders weighing up to 30kg, and requiring next day “Ready to Eat” delivery.
