The MAH celebrates Jean Tinguely's centenary.

From the mid-1970s onwards, the artist forged close ties with the MAH, through exhibitions and friendships whose memory is still reflected in the museum's collection today.

To celebrate this anniversary, the MAH has restored one of the artist's emblematic works Si c'est noir, je m'appelle Jean (1960), and received a major donation of graphic works by Tinguely, offered by the Niki Charitable Art Foundation*.

The selection includes pieces with a historical link to Geneva and the surrounding region.

To revive the spirit of Tinguely's last exhibition at the Musée Rath in 1983, the museum is presenting over thirty mechanical sculptures and a selection of works on paper, some of which are being unveiled for the first time.
