Hoops of Iron presents Macbeth, a contemporary and visceral staging of Shakespeare’s darkest tragedy. Directed by Dr Sofie Qwarnström with an original score by Thomas Bingham, this 20-person show will be performed in English with French surtitles.

Macbeth is the old story of a man who sells his soul — and what it ends up costing him.

Souls seem to be changing hands pretty easily these days. In an international climate marked by disinformation, authoritarianism, and the moral collapse of international law, Macbeth resonates with renewed urgency.

Our Macbeth sets before you a raw, brutal, and elemental world, where one man’s hunger for control consumes his loyalties, then his honesty, his conscience, and finally his reason. This is no tired classic, but living theatre that speaks directly to our time.
