At A Glance

Days 1 - 3
Beginning in Marrakech in a enchanting 4* Hotel, we acclimatise by exploring the hidden secrets of this ancient, enchanting city including the mesmerising Jardin Majorelle and the legendary souks. Energised, the adventure begins as we travel across the Atlas Mountains to the Oum Laachar Pass, following the timeless route used by journeymen traders making the trek from sub-saharan Africa. We overnight at the foot of the Jebel Bani mountains, close to the frontier town of Zagora.

Days 4 - 6
From Zagora, journey south by camel caravan to cross the Jebel Banai Ridge, a 5-6 hour hike which will take you to a wild oasis campsite, to enjoy the authentic nomadic desert experience. Descending from the mountains to follow the river Mhasser you meet the majestic Sahara, hiking through the iconic and dramatic landscapes to camp near the oasis at Oum Laaleg. This leg takes in the picture perfect dunes of the Erg Sedrar and Erg Chigaga, the longest dune in Morocco. Camping in the established luxury camp complete with private bathrooms, the African adventure comes into it’s own as the sun sets and the unspoilt night sky comes alive.

Days 7 - 11
A second day at Erg Chigaga affords the opportunity to explore the dune sea, either on foot or by camel. You can also take the chance to relax and enjoy a wild picnic or traditional massage. From camp we take a 4×4 journey to Mhamid and travel to world-renowned date region of the Draa Valley and the town of Agdz. We overnight in a traditional Kasbah hotel before departing to Marrakech for one final night and farewell dinner.
