In November 2025, Bern becomes the Capital of Cheese as the World Cheese Awards come to Switzerland for the first time turning the city into a three‑day cheese paradise.

Experience the Cheese Festival with around 5,000 cheeses from over 40 countries and a varied programme to join in.

Sample regional specialities at the 2,000 m² Swiss Fine Food Market in the new festival hall on the BERNEXPO site, meet cheesemakers or ride the nostalgic tram where you can taste cheeses or enjoy a fondue — running between Wankdorf station and Guisanplatz. There is something for everyone.

On the square next to the BSC Young Boys (YB) football stadium, a variety of hands-on activities await you : try your hand at milking a cow, test your aim at the goal wall or meet the stars of YB during an autograph session. Alongside a wide selection of food stands, a diverse music programme provides top‑class entertainment.
