From human trafficking to money laundering, not to mention financial support for Putin in his war against Ukraine, the track record of some of the ultra-wealthy is, to say the least, questionable. “The idea isn’t to lump everyone together by saying that every wealthy person has something to be ashamed of, but it is true that among these ultra-rich individuals and oligarchs, there are those who regularly believe that the rules and laws that govern us all do not apply to them. That’s also what we want to highlight with this tour: that there’s an entire industry in Switzerland set up to circumvent these rules,” explains Antoine Harari, co-organizer of the tour.

Behind these hedges and walls lie big names involved in various scandals—some of which have been tried in Geneva, most often with international implications. The organizers reject the idea of a moralizing or activist tour but wanted an educational visit, all with a fun and interactive twist. “We wanted to suggest starting a crowdfunding campaign for [Patrick] Drahi, who’s in debt to the tune of 53 billion!” Sarkis Ohanessian says with a laugh.
