The year 2026 takes the event to an entirely new level. The Canton of Valais officially recognizes the Foire du Valais as part of Valais’s intangible cultural heritage! This historic recognition of this collective legend reaffirms a fundamental value: the Foire belongs to no one; it belongs to everyone. This precious status anchors its DNA as a common good and makes any privatization impossible.

To honor this legacy and send a strong message to those who will carry the torch, a highly symbolic gesture took place on 25 March 2026: the burial of a time capsule. This treasure chest contains mementos from the 65th edition and snippets of our era (65 drawings by schoolchildren imagining the Fair of tomorrow, bottles of vintage wine, the official newspaper, collectible items, as well as personal messages from the committee and the current board).

The date with history has already been set: the time capsule will wait patiently underground before being reopened in 2060, to celebrate the legendary 100th edition in grand style!
