CELLO ARTE: Chamber Music brings the Pays de Gex to life for its 28th edition

From August 26 to September 6, 2026, the CELLO ARTE Chamber Music Festival in the Pays de Gex returns for its 28th edition, dedicated to emotion, shared experiences, and artistic excellence.
For nearly three decades, this unmissable event in the cultural life of the Pays de Gex has showcased chamber music in the region’s iconic venues, bringing together renowned artists, young talents, and classical music enthusiasts.

The musical journey will begin at the Esplanade du Lac in Divonne-les-Bains with an opening concert performed by the Festival’s string ensemble under the direction of Maestro Sergio Lamberto. The audience will discover a rich and varied program, blending rare works with profound musical emotions, notably featuring Astor Piazzolla’s Double Concerto performed by guitarist Dagoberto Linhares and bandoneonist Victor Villena.

For ten days, the Festival will invite the audience to enjoy a sensitive and luminous musical interlude, carried by the sounds of strings, the organ, the piano, the trumpet, and, of course, the cello.

This 28th edition will also pay tribute to Pablo Casals, the great cellist and a major humanist figure of the 20th century, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of his birth.

More than just a series of concerts, CELLO ARTE offers a genuine encounter between artists and the audience in a warm and friendly atmosphere. After the performances, festivalgoers are invited to extend these moving moments with a chance to mingle and enjoy the traditional toast offered by the association.
