the nutcracker

Royal Classical Ballet
Fantastic Christmas ballet for the whole family

"The Nutcracker"

From site: The Nutcracker is a two-act ballet by Pyotr Tchaikovsky to a libretto by Marius Petipa based on the fairy tale by E. T. A. Hoffmann The Nutcracker and the Mouse King. The premiere took place in 1892 and caused conflicting responses: from sincere admiration to complete rejection. Whether the authors of the performance could then assume that their creation was destined for a long and happy fate.

For more than a century, visiting the Nutcracker ballet has been one of the traditional winter pleasures and, regardless of the season, gives a feeling of a magical holiday and fabulous changes. Parents bring their children to the performance, rejoicing at the opportunity to once again plunge into the magical atmosphere of a Christmas fairy tale from the aroma of spicy cinnamon hovering in the winter air.

The story takes viewers into a magical world where good triumphs over evil and where even adults want to return again. The charming beauty of the scenery and costumes, fabulous content, music and dance complement the living creation full of romance and turn the ballet evening into a real holiday.

Nutcracker. Marie looks forward to the coming of Christmas. Among the gifts of the old, shrouded in secrets, Uncle Drosselmeier is not only a dancing mechanical doll, but also the Nutcracker, which especially excites Marie's childhood fantasies. Happy, hugging the Nutcracker, she falls asleep under the New Year tree. She has an amazing dream. At the behest of Uncle Drosselmeier, the Christmas tree grows to infinity, the Nutcracker comes to life...
