Free bottle of champagne for knowitall.ch clients who rent a boat with a skipper this season (see below)

When the good weather returns, the idea of boating on Lake Geneva suddenly becomes very appealing. Heading off down the lake on your personal motor boat can be a wonderful experience, but one generally only enjoyed by those who can afford to buy and maintain a boat – and be lucky enough to secure themselves a mooring.

Keen to open up sailing to a wider audience, boating enthusiasts, Richard Lopez, Florent Chevey and Severine Jacquemai, have come up with a unique idea of enabling clients to enjoy the lake without incurring the stress and fees associated with ownership, mooring and maintenance of a boat.

Set up in 2010, the Royal Leman Yacht Club works a bit like a holiday timeshare.  When you become a member of the club, you immediately have access to a fleet of luxury boats that are constantly renewed to ensure clients experience the very latest models.  Once you pay your membership fees – there are three levels depending on usage – there are no additional fees to pay – all expenses are handled by the Club.

Richard told knowitall.ch, “Membership is really as simple as signing up for a Golf Club or Fitness Center – there are no more outgoings beyond the fixed-sum annual subscription. Our “all expenses included” concept is financially unbeatable. With membership packages starting at just Fr. 6,050.- per annum, we’ve worked out that you could buy 40 years of our Silver membership package, for the same price as buying and maintaining a boat – and you don’t have any of the hassle such as arranging insurance, finding a mooring for your boat, and organizing maintenance. The only thing you do need to have is your boat license!"

Through a web-based booking system, members can organize their own agenda of outings in a quick and flexible way, booking several months in advance or at the last minute depending on their plans.  By sharing boat access between members and limiting the number of  members per boat to 4, the Club is able to guarantee (weather permitting) a minimum number of 2 outings per week for its clients, throughout the season from mid-April to mid October.

Given that the season has already started, the Club will offer some mid-season packages, so that you don’t have to pay the full season’s costs.   Contact Richard at the Club to find out more information.

For those who do not have a boat licence, the Royal Leman Yacht Club also offers a rental service for private individuals, hotels and companies. This service, which includes a skipper for your boat, can be personalized according to client needs – so if you’re looking to celebrate a special event such as a birthday, romantic escape, or bachelor’s outing, then this could be the ideal solution for you.  Alternatively if you just want to rent the boat for an hour or two to do some wake-boarding, for example, then this can also be arranged.

If you’re not feeling quite so ambitious, but are keen to enjoy the lake experience on a luxury boat with friends, then the Club’s regular “Afterwork & Cruise” and “Clubbing & Cruise” outings may be more to your style. With costs starting at as little as Fr. 50.- per person, including drinks, these outings will give you a very good taste of what life can be like aboard a luxury motor boat on Lake Geneva!

The Royal Leman Yacht Club’s current fleet includes the Mastercraft X-35 2011, which is just over 7 meters long and is able to seat 10 people.

discount-button2To encourage more clients to try out its services, Richard is offering a free bottle of Champagne Laurent Perrier to any knowitall.ch clients who rent one of the Club's boats with a skipper.  Just mention this article to claim your free gift! This offer is available until the end of the season in mid-October, 2012.
