Free tickets for family activities also up for grabs, as well as entry passes for the Kids’ Triathlon!  

Following its huge success last year, the Verbier Cross Triathlon will return to the beautiful Val de Bagnes region for another weekend of high energy fun, not just for the participants but the spectators too!

From 15-16 June , the organization 123cross.com will host a series of sporting events in Le Châble, for all ages covering open water swimming, mid-level mountain biking, and trail running.  The classic and sprint cross triathlon with both popular and elite categories plus a variation of combined discipline races will take place on the Saturday afternoon and the Fun for all ages and kids races take place on Sunday morning , a special Fête d’Eté - Summer Festival - will also take place in the event village over both days and will feature a wide range of activities for all the family including a climbing block , parkour training with a professional team  massage and yoga clinics, a big trampoline on the water, water-walkers, stand-up paddle boarding and canoeing, electric biking, jeux des boules, nature awareness workshop with Aventerre and a kids area and much more!

Fête d’Eté family day out

To keep your energy levels up for all the actvities on offer, there will be a meat, fish and vegie BBQ stand, beautiful pastas served in a box, local brewed (low alcohol) beers, local wines, pure bio local juices and prices to win. There will also be live music at various points throughout the day. 

SATURDAY, 15 JUNE 2019

  • 12h-21h : Fête d’Eté with lots of different activities, including live music plus DJ!

  • 13h-18h : classic and sprint cross triathlon races plus duathlon and aquathlon

  • 16h-18h : Last registration for the races on Sunday 16th of June

SUNDAY 16 JUNE 2019

  • 9h-12h: Fun triathlon for all ages and kids races 8 to 12 years of age

  • 12h30-13h: kids races age 4 to 7 years of age

  • 10h-16h : Fête d’Eté with lots of different activities, including live music plus DJ!

La Fête d’Eté will run from 10h-16h although the shops, food, bars etc. will be open from 9h in the morning for all the spectators to enjoy. After 15h30 the bars, restaurants will stop serving and the event site will close at 16h.

Tickets to enter the festival village and lunch options can be purchased on the day.
Entry: Fr. 10.-/adult; Fr. 5.-/children
Fr. 15.-/BBQ, Fr. 10.-/kids pasta with drink
Fr. 15.-/salmon or hamburger and vegetable BBQ
Fr. 10.-/pasta adult portion; Fr. 7.50/child portion includes a juice.

Lots of sporting events to choose from!

To encourage as many people as possible to enter the races, it is possible to register for many of the events right up until the day before, and some even on the day of the event. However, there are limited spaces so you are advised to register online in advance if you want to be sure of getting place.

Children can enter:

  • Kids’ Duathlon, age 4 to 11
  • Kids’ Triathlon, age 8 to 15

Adults and youths can choose from:

• Classic X-Triathlon individual or in team relay (1200m swim, 25km bike with 950m altitude, and 12km run with 280m altitude), individual race from age 18+ and team relay race from 16+
• Sprint X-Triathlon individual or in team relay (650m swim, 15km bike with 450m altitude, and 6km run with 170m altitude), individual race age 16+ and team race from 12+
• Duathlon: Swim & Run 1200m swim and 12 km run / Bike & Run 15km bike with 450m altitude, and 6 km run with 140m altitude), age 16+

Affordable entry fees

The registration fee for the sporting events varies from Fr. 25.- for the Kids' Triathlon event up to Fr. 80.- for the Classic X-Triathlon and Fr. 190.- for the classic team relay event (63 per person). Only one entry per person and per email is allowed for each of the competitions – but you can enter both! Both competitions close at midnight on Tuesday, 4 June 2019. The names of all those submitting correct answers will be placed into the digital hat and the winners’ names drawn at random on Wednesday, 5 June 2019

The first name drawn in the Family Tickets competition will be offered a family ticket with lunch. The second name drawn in the Family Tickets competition will be offered a family ticket excluding lunch.

The first five names to be drawn in the Kids’ Triathlon competition will each receive a free entry to the Kids' Triathlon as well as a free pass for the activities.

All the winners will be notified by email and their names will be added to this article after the competition closes.
