Whether you have lived in this region since birth, or have only been resident for a few years, the chances are that at some point in your life you will want to capture a memory of some special corner of Switzerland. For many people, this will be in the form of a painting – but it is often hard to know where best to look, with so many artists available and so much on offer.

Artiswiss is a new type of art gallery, specializing in paintings of the Lac Léman region, from Geneva to Lavaux, and other neighboring areas (Valais, Grisons). Set up a year ago by local artist, Rita Mancesti, Artiswiss is located in Coppet, Vaud, under the ancient arcade at 28b Grand Rue.  If you step into the gallery any day between 9h30 and 13h on a Tuesday to Saturday, don’t miss the chance to meet Rita in person, who will be delighted to explain her oil paintings to you – in French, English, German or Italian. Unlike many artists who like to work alone, Rita actually creates her paintings at the gallery, so you can watch her whilst she works in her own studio/atelier. Indeed you don't even need to step into the gallery - you can see her work unfold before your very eyes through the gallery window!

Offer valid until 31 March 2015

Knowitall.ch readers are being offered an exclusive 10% discount on membership of the new Vova.Club website.

Set up recently to support the Vova Swiss Deals (Vova.ch) daily promotion site, Vova.Club provides members with a wide range of advantages, privileges and discounts throughout Switzerland and beyond. One of the key benefits of the club is a personal membership card, which can be used to claim discounts on special offers being made at participating retail outlets and service providers.   There is no limit on the number of discounts that can be claimed with the card and in some cases, cash rebates can be collected on specific offers.

Describing the new membership service to knowitall.ch, co-founders Marc Luanghy and Mehdi Bouamri, told us, "Since we launched our daily promotion site, Vova.ch, just over a year ago, we have seen a huge interest from clients, keen to discover everything to do with leisure, technology and wellness. Typically this includes activities such as weekend activities, access to tickets for special events, and discounts on products, gourmet dinners and much more.”
