Now that the kids are back to school, it's time to start thinking about additional activities to keep them entertained and challenged when they are back at home.  To help you, we have been busy posting details on our Activities Calendar of various courses recommended to us at knowitall.ch.  Below we have highlighted just a small handful of the recent ones that we have posted on the site this week. Since the calendar relies solely on recommendations from you (we don't trawl the internet looking for courses), we urge you to let us know if you think we have missed a good one!

Undoubtedly some of the most popular courses in the region are those provided by Intersoccer.  With lots of different programmes running throughout Switzerland, including Geneva, Founex, Nyon, Versoix and Gland, Interosccer has soccer classes to suit all ages and ability from 2 to 13 years old.  If you're not sure whether it's the right thing for your child, why not pop along to one of the Free Trials they are running during September. Visit our calendar for more details.

For younger children, The Little Gym in Geneva has a huge program of activities for children aged from 4 months to 12 years. We've just posted their schedule on our calendar, but if you want more details on individual classes then visit their website here.

A local organizer of fun, healthy activities for children, The Little Gym® in Geneva, is holding a special competition this Summer that will enable parents to win a free subscription for their child on one of the many classes that they will be running throughout next year (subject to availability).

For every stage of your child’s life – from 4 months to 12 years – The Little Gym offers a range of classes that are filled with movement, music, learning and fun. Since each age-appropriate curriculum builds upon the previous one, children progress at their own pace, developing their confidence as they develop their skills.  Click here to see the full programme for next year.

To enter the competition, and win yourself a free place on one of these classes, all you have to do is take a picture of your child doing a gymnastic movement such as a forward roll, cartwheel, hand stand, monkey jump, or donkey kick etc. Just send your picture via email to The Little Gym at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., who will then post your picture on their Facebook page.

Details of Intersoccer’s full range of Spring soccer courses for boys and girls are now available online at www.intersoccer.ch.

If you are interested in trying out one of the courses for your child, then come along to one of the free trials that Intersoccer is offering at each of their locations in the region including Geneva, Versoix, Founex, Nyon, Lausanne, Vevey and Gland.

Courses include Mini Soccer for 3 to 6 year olds, After School for 4 to 13 year olds, Saturday Soccer for 3 to 12 years olds and Girls Only for 6 to 13 year olds.

The new season starts the week beginning of 5th March, but dates vary from location to location so check out the starting date on the Intersoccer website for the venue nearest you.  Don’t worry if you miss the first week of the course – you can still join later if places are available.

If you want to keep track of Santa Claus/Father Christmas this month you must add this website (www.noradsanta.org) to your favorite’s list! On the 24th December check the website on a regular basis to see where Santa has been sighted. Your kids will bubble with excitement! Don't forget that there is still a lot to see on the website before Christmas.

Note: The website also has delightful stories about Santa, full explanations about how they do it (NORAD uses four high-tech systems to track Santa - radar, satellites, Santa Cams and jet fighter aircraft), a countdown from now until Christmas eve, videos, games, and songs.

Based on historical data and more than 50 years of NORAD tracking information, we believe that Santa Claus is alive and well in the hearts of children throughout the world.

Come and visit Santa Claus at home and take a look around his magical farm and garden at Le Hameau du Père Noël (check opening hours). You can even peep inside his bathroom and bedroom! The elves apartment and workshop are also on show for all to see. There is a mailbox for the little ones to deposit their letters to Santa.

Outside you will find the reindeers, Pilot, Lynette, Didou, Domino and Myrtille, waiting to head off on their famous journey on the 24th December.

Take the opporunity to taste the famous pancakes of Mrs Claus in her tearoom, or buy a few last minute decorations and Christmas presents.
