This is a national holiday in Switzerland. Schools, shops, and offices will be shut. Some of the garden centers will be open if you want to shop such as Schilliger Gland, Botanic, and Jardiland. Below you will find some local museums that have reopened; this is not an exhaustive list.

A stone's throw from the lake, in the green setting of a Mediterranean-style garden, the Roman museum houses the remains of a rich ancient residence and presents, in its permanent exhibition, the archaeological furniture discovered on the site of Lousonna. With a view to raising cultural awareness in times of crisis, the City of Lausanne offers you free admission to the four museums communal until 7 June 2020. Click here for more information.

The museum has just reopened its door and welcomes you to visit their latest exhibit.
Belle Époque and the Roaring Twenties, from Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec to Marc Chagall, via the Vaudois Théophile Alexandre Steinlen and Félix Vallotton, as well as Raoul Dufy, Kees van Dongen, Henri Matisse, and Fernand Léger. Admission is free every first Saturday of the month (otherwise Fr. 10.- and free for children under age 16). Click here for more information.

According to two 6th century chroniclers, Marius d'Avenches and Grégoire de Tours, a terrible catastrophe struck Lake Geneva in 563: caused by the collapse of a mountain, a gigantic wave swept across the lake from Le Bouveret to Geneva and destroyed everything in its path. From 16 May to 7 June 2020, admission is free to all visitors. Click here for more information.
