nanny 29April2017

A great opportunity for local families to help their nannies freshen up on skills!

On 29 April 2017, the Swiss Nanny Association is organizing National Nanny Training Day (NNTD) in Geneva to recognize the needs of young children and to raise awareness of the positive correlation between nanny training and quality care.

On this day, over 2000 nannies in more than 36 cities worldwide will gather in their local communities at training events designed to meet their unique needs. This grassroots organized event started in 2012 and has expanded this year to include events in Sydney, London and Geneva.

The Swiss Nanny Association (SNA) is a non-profit organization founded by nannies in February 2016. SNA aims to be the number one reference in Switzerland for in-home childcare by providing guidance education and a community to its members.

With NNTD, the Swiss Nanny Association is bringing an exciting event to Switzerland, an event that will help nannies gain confidence at their jobs by empowering them with new skills. This kind of shared knowledge event will eventually increase nannies' standards across the profession.

Sue Downey, owner of Nannypalooza.com, says, “Many nannies are drawn to this work because they have natural skills. But when you combine those natural instincts with a solid knowledge of child development you will directly increase the quality of care for children. And top notch care is what every child needs and deserves.”

The Geneva event will offer sessions on child development, personal development, health, safety and nutrition, learning environment, working with families and domestic labor law, and is open to nannies throughout the community. This event will also offer caregivers the opportunity to network, share resources and be appreciated for the important work they do.  For more information on this event, nannies should visit swissnanny.org/events.

National Nanny Training Day is an international initiative coordinated by Nannypalooza.com, a site dedicated to nanny professional development. It is the home of the Nannypalooza conference, a two day training event for nannies held in the Fall.
