ETC meeting 2014

Learn all about the benefits of coaching at ETC’s first event of 2014

Launched in 2010, Expat Talents Connect (ETC) is a face-to-face exchange network, inspiring expats to connect and share their talents.  Through a series of monthly meetings, many of which are held at the Centre de l'Esperance in Geneva, the network invites local entrepreneurs to share their journeys and, in the process, motivate others to follow their dreams.

ETC was founded by two professional women, Anine Ekelund and Cheryl Gooch, who saw the benefits of networking and wanted to provide expats, like themselves, with the opportunity of meeting others in a relaxed and informal setting.  Whilst most of the particpants are women, men are also very welcome to attend meetings and share their experiences.

Anine told us, “At ETC meetings we urge our speakers to share their unique personal stories and tell us what led them to make the choices that inspired them to follow their hearts and live their passions. Our community is full of talented people who don’t yet have the courage to take that first essential step towards following their own dream, whatever that may be. ETC’s mission is to connect these people in a dynamic, inclusive and warm environment, and help them make the first steps on their courageous ventures”.

A regular attendee at ETC meetings, Bonnie Fatio, told knowitall.ch, “I love the informality of this group. There is no formal membership or dues. People attend when they are able to and are interested in the program. Diverse cultures, ages and interests are present; some people work outside the home, some do not. The fact that the program is during the day (10h00 to 12h30) means that you need a flexible schedule.”

She added, “Programs that I have attended include topics of art, sports and wellness, creativity and philanthropy. I also gave my own program on Aging with Pizzazz!.  An important outcome of all these programs is networking.  Participants learn about others, make business contacts and create friendships. Many have lunch together after the program.”

To kickstart the new year, ETC has invited a dynamic panel of guest coaches to come and share their inspiring stories.  At the meeting, to be held on Friday 31 January, attendees will have the opportunity to find out what brought the speakers into coaching, and discover what a difference it can make to having an ally on your path towards fulfilling your own dreams.

So, whatever your goal: be it creating a harmonious family with thriving children; finding serenity and inner peace; thriving as an expat; or finding something meaningful to do outside home or work - each of the guest coaches at this event will be offering a taster of their own unique style and focus area.

As a not-for-profit organization, ETC charges a small fee to cover the costs of hosting their events.  This meeting will take place at the Centre L’Esperance in Geneva between 10h00 and 12h30 and will cost just Fr. 20.-.  If you would like to attend the event, or find out more information, please email the organization directly at This email address is being protected from spambots.
