A beautiful nation such as Switzerland might seem like it could just sell itself to the tourists. However, declining tourist numbers show that even the most saleable products need a successful marketing strategy behind them. How does the tourism industry in Switzerland avoid risking a standstill, and what is the role of the National Tourist Office today?

With a total financial turnover associated with tourism of CHF 51.3 billion, a total of 192,000 full-time-equivalent jobs in the entire country, and a share of 4.4% of all export income, the importance of tourism sector to the Swiss economy is quite often underestimated.

Urs Eberhard will talk about how Switzerland Tourism began, and about today’s opportunities and challenges for Switzerland as a tourism destination. This is a great opportunity to understand the diversification of brand marketing, with valuable lessons you can take away and apply to your own business.
