An urban golf course has been created for the second year running in the center of Geneva!  From 1st June until 16 September 2012, it will be possible to play this new version of a popular game along the banks of Lake Geneva.   The nine-hole course extends over 4km and enables participants to rediscover the beauty of the harbour region, whilst practising an enjoyable and healthy activity.

Whilst traditional golf has long been considered an elite sport, urban golf (often called City Golf) opens up the sport to the wider public, and can be practised throughout parks, public walkways, and gardens.  Played by 2 or more players, the aim of the game is to complete the 9 hole course with the minimum number of shots.

The Geneva course begins at the Parc des Bastions. Partcipants are invited to collect their golf clubs and balls from a special golf chalet, situated near the entrance on Rue Saint-Léger.  There is no charge for hiring the equipment, which has been provided by the Service de la Jeunesse, with the support of various partners.

The course lasts about 2 hours, and passes by some of the most symbolic regions of Geneva, including the Promenade de la Treille, the Jardin Anglais and the Brunswick Monument.

The course is open every day from 12h30 à 18h30, except on Thursdays when it opens until 22h.
