Now that the kids are back to school, it's time to start thinking about additional activities to keep them entertained and challenged when they are back at home.  To help you, we have been busy posting details on our Activities Calendar of various courses recommended to us at knowitall.ch.  Below we have highlighted just a small handful of the recent ones that we have posted on the site this week. Since the calendar relies solely on recommendations from you (we don't trawl the internet looking for courses), we urge you to let us know if you think we have missed a good one!

Undoubtedly some of the most popular courses in the region are those provided by Intersoccer.  With lots of different programmes running throughout Switzerland, including Geneva, Founex, Nyon, Versoix and Gland, Interosccer has soccer classes to suit all ages and ability from 2 to 13 years old.  If you're not sure whether it's the right thing for your child, why not pop along to one of the Free Trials they are running during September. Visit our calendar for more details.

For younger children, The Little Gym in Geneva has a huge program of activities for children aged from 4 months to 12 years. We've just posted their schedule on our calendar, but if you want more details on individual classes then visit their website here.

If sport is not your child's thing, then the new classes being organized by Futurekids in Geneva are definitely worth a look at.  For younger kids aged between 4 and 8 the workshops have been specially designed to capture their imagination, introducing them to an array of different multimedia software. As the kids get older, they are taught how to master important computer applications, designing and constructing their own projects. Children can learn how to program their own 2D or 3D video games and animations, and get familiar with robotics, web site design and video editing. More details on our website here.

For anyone interested in Art, ALLMINDS offers a series of courses and workshops in life-drawing, painting, photography, illustration, and graphics, as well as a Teens Club for those free on Wednesday afternoons. Designed to give all participants access to serious studio time with expert supervision, the club provides time for work in areas such as fashion design, drawing, painting, and sculpture etc. 15-18 year olds considering a career in the Creative Industries may also like to check out this event on our website. ALLMINDS are also running their annual trip to London in October for the serious Art learner.

If your child doesn't mind doing an activity in French (indeed it is a great way for them to learn French, doing something that they enjoy), then the local communes in both Switzerland and neighboring France offer a huge number of activities that are heavily subsidized, and therefore often much cheaper than their English counterparts.  The Ecole et Quartier in Versoix is a prime example with language classes, art and crafts for kids and adults, dancing for all ages, and cooking - to name but a few. With 210 courses on offer, you are bound to find something to your taste. Check out the following website for more information: www.aeqv.ch. The association Loisirs et Culture in Divonne-les-Bains also offers a wide range of classes for children. Visit their website here: http://www.lecdivonne.net/
