Meet Jili Hamilton at OffTheShelf’s next book reading event on Tuesday, 17 September, 2013

How many of us feel there is something missing in our lives?  We struggle to do our best but things don’t always seem to work out the way we had hoped and we ask ourselves: ‘Why me?’

Local author, Jili Hamilton, tries to answer these questions and more in her new book, entitled, "A Seeker's Guide to a Life worth Living", which includes a series of short articles on various aspects of life and the lessons learnt, particularly through the people who have touched her life.

Living in Geneva, and working as a translator, proof-reader, writer, teacher and therapist, Jili writes a fortnightly column for a small online magazine on various aspects of self-development.  So popular are the articles that she submits to this column, that she decided to compile them into this unique book, so that others can benefit from her infinite wisdom!

Jili told knowitall.ch, “The book covers many different subjects, and includes my experiences with numerous people, whose names have been changed to respect their confidentiality. Readers are invited to dip in and choose a story that appeals to them, or to read through the book systematically. The chapters are all relatively short so you can pick the book up when you’ve only a few minutes to spare, or you can turn directly to a story that has a particular message for you at any given moment.”

She added, “My life is no different to others and every day presents a challenge in one form or another.  Often the only way to deal with what life throws in our path comes down to a question of attitude; we can’t always control events but we can choose how we react to them. Sometimes people who have found themselves in the direst situations, through refusing to believe that the worst has happened, have managed to turn their lives around: the last thing you can control in a person is freedom of thought.”

Early reviews provide an indication of the masterful teaching provided by Jili's new book. Below are just a few of the comments provided by authors of similar books:

“A Seeker's Guide is a wonderful and wise companion on our own journey. It's packed with powerful spiritual principles, sparkling insights, and - best of all - illustrative stories we can all relate to.”

“There seems to be no area of one’s life in which she is not able to offer insights, inspiration, and motivation”

“In this book Jili expresses in one sentence that which we all should take note of. "We are capable of far more than we imagine". This is a work of considerable depth and understanding."

To find out more about this inspirational new book and to meet Jili Hamilton in person, come along to OffTheShelf’s next book reading event on 17 September, 2013, where you are invited to enjoy drinks and nibbles and listen to Jili reading extracts from her book.
