A new bilingual day care center is set to open in Versoix in February of 2016.

Located close to Lake Geneva in 450m2 of space on the ground floor of the Modulis Business Park building, the Little Green House crèche will accommodate up to 45 babies and toddlers from the age of 4 months through to 4 years.

Building on the success of its other centers in Gland and Tolochenaz, the new daycare center in Versoix will provide a private, bilingual international environment where children learn to speak both French and English through child-initiated activities.

Featured on our website when they launched their first center in Gland in May 2012, Little Green House places a strong emphasis on Nature and Health.  A balanced program has been designed with the aim of giving children the security and confidence they need to develop a sense of what is good and healthy. Each day the children spend time together outdoors and explore their surroundings. Meals are primarily composed of whole food and organic products.

Aware that working parents often need support services at unusual times, Little Green House offers individualized care outside traditional business hours. Their centers are open daily from 7h to 18h30, with extended hours possible from 6h to 21h. The centers are also open all year round except for the last two weeks of December.

Founder and Director, Barbara Lax, told knowitall.ch, “Since we opened our first center in Gland, parents have come to appreciate our healthy approach to learning, which creates a benchmark for their child’s future education."

So popular has the Little Green House philosophy become with parents that the center has recently included a small, canton-approved school for children aged from 4 to 6 years in its facilities in Tolochenaz (Morges) (also featured on knowitall.ch).

Although the daycare center in Morges has always catered for children up to the age of 6, the school enables children to learn in accordance with the canton’s strict guidelines for educating children in their school system, whilst also benefiting from the advantages of Little Green House.

Barbara added, “At Little Green House, we feel it is really important to convey to the children the joy of learning in a playful way, taking as a starting point their curiosity and pleasure in learning and discovery. We always ensure that our children have enough time to play and discover nature.”

She continued, “Learning in small groups of a maximum of 15 children allows us to focus on the individual children, their needs and their level of development in a very personal manner.”

One of the major benefits of the school compared to other local primary schools is that children can continue to be looked after at Little Green House in the times before and after the lessons, during lunch breaks and in the holidays. The daily exposure to three languages – English, French and German – will also help to prepare children for the international environment in which they live.

Little Green House is currently accepting new registrations for both its new daycare center in Versoix and the school in Tolochenaz. Visit the website for further information.
