Lisa Cirieco-Ohlman has teamed up with Denise Nickerson for a new project: Education Guide Switzerland. Lisa has been publishing Know-it-all passport® since 1999 and has built up a solid reputation in the area. The 8th edition is at press and will be available end-of-August 2012. Denise has been involved with education since 1997 and specializes in working with multicultural, international, and expatriated individuals and families, and international schools and universities.

This new catalog will be listing over 250 universities, graduate institutes, international schools and Montessori schools — all educational institutions that offer academic programs in English within Switzerland — listed free-of-charge. Each school will have a dedicated page for their description which will also contain quotes when available from parents, students, alumni, faculty, or directors. The tuition costs, contact details, location, fun facts or famous alumni, degrees and certificates will also be divulged in one handy book. This 272-page catalog will certainly meet the demands much needed in a country offering so many ways to learn.

Providing a catalog of a country boasting a variety of English-language educational experiences for children and adults in Switzerland has been met with much applaud. "This will be a very useful guide" and "What a super and useful idea!" are just some of the comments that have been pouring in.

Denise expressed, “Switzerland probably has more educational opportunities per square kilometer than any country on earth! For all the international families who move here — who may or may not speak French, German, or Italian — the amount of choices can be overwhelming. We hope our catalog will help people compare schools and make informed decisions for themselves and their families.”

Lisa confessed, “When Denise suggested this catalog to me I knew it would be a great resource. This is a hot topic and is often part of the Q&A when I am doing talks to groups in the area. I had no idea before we started that there are over 250 institutions that fit the requirements to be listed in Education Guide Switzerland. It was an idea waiting to happen and Denise is just the person for the job. I am happy to give it the Know-it-all passport® stamp of approval!”

Two ficticious schools show how the layout will be on this first edition.

In an attempt to help confused parents and counselors figure out the best match for children and young adults, each school was asked to provide their content information and quotes from their community that reflect the unique qualities and values of the institution. The mock-up, above, demonstrates how the school's pages will look. The easy-to-read layout gives you just the right amount of information without confusing you further! The icons down the sides of the page highlight the schools contact info, fee amounts, number of students and faculty, number of nationalities represented, fun facts or famous alumni.
